We love charts here at Player Attack, and one of the highlights of our week is receiving the latest details from UKIE, who send us the 10 best-selling titles in Britain, as announced by The Association for UK Interactive Entertainment.
We often talk about how one game or another has held onto the top spot for multiple weeks and compare it to the company record, but this time, Bandai Namco should be very proud of itself. Project CARS is #1 for the second week in a row – and while it’s not the first time one of the publisher’s games has done that, it’s the first time it’s been done in more than 16 years. The last one? Ridge Racer Type 4.
#2 this week is the standalone expansion Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, which is enjoying a delayed physical release (the digital copies landed on May 5th). If you were curious, 67% of gamers are picking that one up on PS4, with just 27% on Xbox One and the remainder (about 5%) on PC. By the way, this new release has helped the publisher’s back-catalogue, too: The original Wolfenstein: The New Order has made a happy reappearance at #32. Whether it’s accidental sales from people who don’t know the new one is standalone, or whether it’s people finally catching up with one of 2014’s best games, we’re not sure.
Both GTA V and Mortal Kombat X have had to move down a spot to compensate for the Nazis – but then there’s another new title coming in at #5! No cute stories about Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster, which got a PS4 release and a #5 debut, but it’s still a none-too-shabby performance from Square Enix.
