We love charts here at Player Attack, and one of the highlights of our week is receiving the latest details from UKIE, who send us the 10 best-selling titles in Britain, as announced by The Association for UK Interactive Entertainment.
Look at this. Look at this! It’s a racing sim sitting at the top of the charts. Congratulations are well in order for Project CARS – it’s the first time a racer’s taken #1 in two years. Given the current release climate, that’s no small feat! It’s also the first (boxed) game to boast triple screen 4K resolution and compatibility with both Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus, which goes to show that crowdfunded games really can be super-duper-shiny.
Mortal Kombat X has dropped to #3 while GTAV remains steady at #2, and we get a couple of new releases, although they’re lurking in the depths. Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush brings the Wii U back at #21 (that’s Rainbow Curse outside of Europe and the UK), and at #38 we have the 3DS compilation Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Edition, starting out a little lower than we’d anticipated.
There’s even a resurgence tucked away at #38: EA‘s Skate 3 was first released in 2010, and has just re-entered the top 40 (just) for the first time in 2015. We’re not entirely sure why, but the game’s enjoying ridiculous success even now, five years later. 25% of the game’s lifetime sales have been in the past 12 months. Weird.
