Be warned, if you’re the sort of person who leaps to their feet accusing things of “ruining your childhood”, you probably don’t want to know this: It looks like Capcom is making a new Ghostbusters game… for iPhone… and it’ll probably be studded with microtransactions as well as Psychomagnotheric Slime.
Beeline Interactive has previously made games like Smurf Life and Smurfette’s Magic Match, as it takes on the lucrative licensed mobile game market for parent company Capcom. The studio actually made another Ghostbusters game a couple of years ago, which it’s okay if you’ve forgotten (you built a team of Ghostbusters and cruised around New York City to earn money and slime).
Now, as fans clamber aboard the hype train for the two new films in the works, the studio’s dusting off the overalls as it prepares to take another crack at the franchise.
We don’t know anything really about what’s in the works – Capcom is calling for beta testers familiar with F2P games like Clash of Clans and Puzzle and Dragon. If that’s you, then hop to it. If it’s not… then maybe live and let live?
