Zombie fans, listen up. Dead Rising: Watchtower, “your A-to-Zombie guide to owning the undead”, is available right now on video streaming service Crackle. The straight-to-video live-action adaptation of the Dead Rising game series is completely free to watch… as long as you live in the right part of the world.
After a zombie outbreak, four survivors must evade infection while tracking down the cause of the epidemic.
The film stars Jesse Metcalfe (Dallas), Dennis Haysbert (Ted 2), Virginia Madsen (Sideways) and both Meghan Ory and Keegan Connor Tracy from Once Upon a Time. The Daily Show‘s Rob Riggle appears as Frank West. You can watch it right now on Sony‘s digital service Crackle, in a handy streaming format.
If you live outside of the US, you might have to take our word for it: Watchtower is unfortunately locked down by regional restrictions (dontcha love those?), which means those of us in different parts of the world (the UK, Australia and New Zealand included) will have to miss out for now.
It’s not all bad news though – if you can’t watch just yet, sit tight. We’re promised the film will make it to “other digital services” in the not-too-distant future (including some cable TV channels) – and remember, some outlets are playing the film as a short, episodic series, so make sure you catch ’em all!
…on the other hand, if you’re in the right part of the world, run – don’t shamble – to your closest web-browser and settle in for some zombie-smashin’ good times. The entire Dead Rising: Watchtower movie is available now via Crackle.
