Strange things are afoot in Arkham City, as Warner Bros makes some interesting changes to Batman: Arkham Knight. First up: If you want the game on PC in the UK, it’s only getting a digital release – and no matter where you are in the world, it’s been pushed back by three weeks.
As compensation (and to make the wait “even more unbearable”), the studio has released a new gameplay video for your viewing pleasure:
The delay means that instead of launching on June 3 in Australia (just before E3), the game won’t be available until June 24 (June 23 in the UK). Game director Sefton Hill explains:
We’re a developer that hates to make any compromises, so we are sorry to say this means it’s going to be just a little bit longer until you can play the epic conclusion to the Arkham trilogy.
More interesting is the news that – in the UK at least – Arkham Knight will be a digital-only release on PC. It’s still heading to retail in North America and Europe, but – for some reason – it’s download-only for the UK (we’re currently chasing the status of the AU/NZ launch).
Of course, if you’re hanging out for Batman: Arkham Knight on PS4 or Xbox One, it’s hitting brick-and-mortar stores in all regions as originally planned, so nothing there’s changed… other than that pesky launch date.
