Last week saw Friday the 13th turn up on the calendar again, and the team at NetherRealm celebrated in unique fashion, confirming the one and only Jason Voorhees as a downloadable character for Mortal Kombat X.
Mr Voorhees – the iconic character from what feels like countless Friday the 13th films – has been announced as the first of four playable characters included in the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack. Other characters will include two Klassic Mortal Kombat Kombatants and “another special guest character” yet to be announced.
The Kombat Pack is pretty much another name for “Season Pass”, giving gamers access to Mortal Kombat X DLC as it’s released, with some available immediately at launch.
Mortal Kombat X hits shelves April 15th, and on the same day, NetherRealm is launching the Samurai Pack for Kombat Pack owners, containing three new character skins: Ronin Kenshi, Samurai Shinnok and Jingu Kitana and an accompanying skin pack for each playable character. If you’re not interested in the full Kombat Pack, each piece of DLC will be available separately, after a delay and for a higher price.
We don’t completely know what will be included in the Kombat Pack just yet, but in Australia, it’ll set you back AU$44.95, and is available on all platforms – PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Windows PC.
