This War of Mine DLC benefits children's charity

This War of Mine has always taken a different approach to things – and now it’s taken that approach to DLC, too. The developers have teamed up with War Child for a DLC giveaway, with all proceeds going directly to the charity.

Last year, we learned that 11 bit Studios had covered development costs in two days, suggesting that there’s still plenty of money to be made from the down-beat survival simulator. However, the studio’s decided to give the money to someone who needs it more.

The DLC for This War of Mine is being sold at a number of price points: 79p, £6.99 and £14.99. Regardless of what you pay, you’ll still get the same content – and 100% of the money raised is going to charity.

The pack itself is also interesting, adding street art to the game. Pieces have been contributed by international artists including Gabriel “Specter” Reese, SeaCreative, Emir Cerimovic, Fauxreel and M-City. Once the DLC is installed, the artwork is scattered around the game for players to discover.

Thank you and please don’t give up on trying to make this world a better place.

A few tidbits of information about This War of Mine – the average gameplay session lasts nearly an hour and a half, and the person playing is between 25 and 34 years old. 54% of buyers are male, with 33% coming from the United States.

…and while it’s doing perfectly well on PC, This War of Mine is also now coming to iOS, with an iPad version in the works at 11 bit.
