Hell yeah! Free game! And this sucker’s just not any old free game, but a game that many folk consider a classic of the genre!
Whoa! I’ve gotta take it back a notch. For those of you who are staring at the screen thinking “That shitty FPS from a couple of years back is considered a classic? Really?!” Don’t worry. We’re not talking about that one but the original 1993 release from Bullfrog Studios.
Syndicate is one of those 90s games that expected the 2000s to be a cyber-infused, dystopian hell hole where mega corporations vied for control over everything. So they were 25% correct. You control your own Megacorp and have to send cyborg agents out to do your dirty work, ranging from assassinating key political figures to winning the hearts and minds of the public…by brandishing guns in their faces. It plays out like the old fallout games, in being that it’s an isometric strategy game and holds up pretty well as a blast from the past.
The only downside, it’s an EA property, and you know what that means- yeah, you’ve gotta use Origin. Urgh, I feel dirty…
