Australia’s Halfbrick Studios has announced the next game that’ll have you flailing wildly in front of your console: Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 – and they’ve brought some ancient talent on board to help show it off.
That is the very talented (very young!) Jade Chynoweth, who played young Artemisia in 2014 film 300: Rise of an Empire. Seems she still has time to play a video game or two!
Shainiel Deo, chief executive at Halfbrick Studios explains:
This is the most satisfying, complete, and accessible party game ever created. The new Kinect sensor makes a world of difference, and Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 has been built from the ground up to take full advantage of the latest hardware.
Exclusively for Xbox One, Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 brings with it five new game modes, a new progression system, an expanded character lineup and – excitingly – four-person multiplayer.
It’s time for the Blueberry Moon festival, and the developers have slipped a little stealth into the mix, as you avoid spotlights, dodge shurikens and hack through a bamboo forest in search of your final goal.
Interestingly, Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 is not being developed in Australia. This one’s been handed over to Hibernum Creations in Canada, who specialise in “social network games”. This is their first console title, and it seems both parties are pretty pleased.
Fruit Ninja is our baby – it’s what got us here today and we continue to maintain an incredibly high quality bar. Hibernum have exceeded our expectations every step of the way, and we think fans will get a huge kick out of the finished product.
Due out on March 18th, Fruit Ninja 2 will be available exclusively on Xbox One, via the Xbox Games Store. Better start warming up!
