Buckle your seatbelts: A brand new standalone expansion is set to hit the world of Forza Horizon, with Microsoft announcing Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious for Xbox One and Xbox 360, a bit of a mashup with the blockbuster film franchise.
The storyline isn’t specifically tied to any one particular F&F film, but it will be released alongside Fast & Furious 7, and the game is packed with cars as seen in the movie. If you get in quick – between March 28 (launch day!) and April 11 – you’ll get Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious free. After that, it’ll be a bargain-basement AU$13.45.
Phil Spencer, head of Xbox explains:
Forza is synonymous with racing and fun, so it’s only natural for us to work with one of the most celebrated automotive entertainment franchises in the world. This is a great way to bring Forza players into the world of Fast & Furious, and in Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, every fan will get a chance to go wheels-first into the exciting action of the Fast & Furious franchise.
Of course, we know, it’s all about the cars. Here’s some of what you get:
- 1970 Dodge Charger R/T Fast & Furious Edition
- 2012 Nissan GT-R Fast & Furious Edition
- 1998 Toyota Supra Fast & Furious Edition
- 2014 Maserati Ghibli S Fast & Furious Edition
- 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Fast & Furious Edition
- 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Fast & Furious Edition
- 1970 Plymouth Cuda Fast & Furious Edition
- 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Fast & Furious Edition
You’ll be racing around an open-world south of France in the game, after being recruited by Tej Parker, the series’ expert mechanic (played in the films – and in the game – by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges). He’s sent you off to source cars for the next big mission, in a world inspired both by Forza‘s long history of gameplay and by the Fast & Furious films.
Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious is due out March 28th for both Xbox One and Xbox 360, and it’s free until April 11th.
