Ash Vs. Evil Dead is something I didn't know I needed, until now!

Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and a chainsaw. I’m sold on that loose connection of words right there. But better yet, that not so random assortment of words is the selling premise of Starz’ new show Ash Vs. Evil Dead. So grab your boomsticks and get psyched everyone!

Up until today, very few details were out there about the show. We knew that Raimi was on to direct. We knew that he written the pilot with his brother Ivan Raimi. And most importantly, we knew the king of chins Bruce Campbell was going to return as Ash.

Now, thanks to the self proclaimed King himself, Bruce Campbell, we have us a glimpse at the plot:

In it we are introduced to a nomadic Ash, a figure who’s not only haunted by traumatic memories but also terrorized by the unwelcome continuance of Deadite attacks, which have followed him to the myriad Midwestern trailer parks he’s been forced to call home. In an effort to eke out an existence and in keeping with his previous choice of career, the character spends his days working at Ted’s Superclub as a stock room trainee and, in true Ash fashion, his evenings chasing skirt in roadside bars.

He knows it to be true.

He knows it to be true.

Campbell will be joined by Jill Marie Jones (from Fox’s Sleepy Hollow) who will be playing Michigan State Trooper Amanda Fisher, who suspects Ash in the murder of her partner. After learning the truth- like a good delusion law offical-, Fisher teams up with Ash to take on the Deadites!

I know some of you are thinking “Does this need to exist? Like, seriously?” And I’d have to say, probably not. But, the better question is: do I want this to happen? The answer to that, an emphatic “shit yeah!”
Even if it’s corny as hell- which it better be- it’ll be hilarious. Plus Raimi and Campbell is the film equivalent of Mentos and Diet Coke. You know what’s gonna happen but it’s still fun every time!

Hail to the King, baby!
