Don’t panic: Grand Theft Auto V is still headed to PC on January 27. Eagle-eyed gamers spotted an update to the game’s Steam page which changed the launch date to a nebulous “Early 2015”, but Rockstar Games says that nothing has changed.
Yes, the game’s been out for more than a year. Yes, it came to current-gen consoles months ago. PC gamers have been left hanging for months now, so it’s understandable that they get a little upset when it looks like they might be denied their own version of the game.
GTAV will be coming to PC on January 27th. We have not announced any changes to this date at this time.
Optimists are taking this to mean that GTA V will be released in less than a month, but nay-sayers and skeptics are squinting at the mention of “at this time”.
We’ll have to wait and see though, it seems – if you need a quick GTA fix, head to the iTunes App Store – Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy is on sale right now for just US$9.99. For that price, you’ll get Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, all for your iPhone, iPad or other iOS device. Sure, it’s not the same as a new PC release, but it’s still pretty neat, right?
