For all those keeping count, yes, yes that is the fourth patch Ubisoft have released now for Assassin’s Creed Unity. Released a little later than originally slated, this 6.7 GB update, according to Ubisoft, is “mainly focused on alleviating performance issues and improving the overall experience.”
The main issues the latest patch is attempting to fix range from some performance problems, like frame rate drops, game crashes and lost progression, to tackling those pesky online connectivity faux pas when matchmaking and when using the game’s companion app. If there’s a particular bug that’s really been grinding your revolutionary gears, you can check the patch notes here to see if it’s been addressed.
Now, you may be thinking to yourself “Okay, stuffs been fixed but why is this patch the size of a damn GAME!?!” Well, that’s due in part to Ubisoft having to actually rebuild or update parts of their illustrious 19th century Paris, in an attempt to boost the games struggling framerate.
The grande patch is live now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a Windows PC version becoming available next week- ’cause you know, it’s for PC.
