What are you doing this weekend? Want to play some World of Warships? The naval combat game’s not quite ready for public release, but you’re invited to a special sneak peek testing event this weekend – and we’ve got some keys to give away!
The event – called World of Warships: Rock-Paper-Scissors – is held on the South East Asia servers, starting on December 12 (that’s today!) at 6pm Tokyo time (What’s that in my timezone?). It will run through until Sunday December 14 at 11:59pm Tokyo time (What’s that in my timezone?), and you are free to play as much as you want within that time.
Thanks to Wargaming, we have
50 keys an extra 100 keys to give away for this very special sneak peek weekend. To get in on the warship action, you just need to follow us on YouTube, friend us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and…
…as soon as we’ve got your address, we’ll send over a beta key with your name on it. Bon voyage!
Daniil Volkov, World of Warships Development Director explains:
This weekend with World of Warships, we are starting with a new model of testing and are looking forward to seeing the results of this new approach. The game is still in the early stages of development. Opening it to a larger audience will allow us to get a lot of relevant feedback that will be instrumental in defining player expectations and outlining what we are to focus on in the coming months.
The “Rock-Paper-Scissors” name comes because there are only three classes of military vessels unlocked in the event: Japanese battleships, Japanese and American cruisers, and Japanese and American destroyers, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
The World of Warships event features four levels of difficulty and promises a “guided learning curve” starting with co-op PvE battles (a team of players vs AI-controlled ships), and moving up to some intense naval combat missions.
What are you waiting for? Off you go! Grab your key, head to the World of Warships: Rock-Paper-Scissors website to grab the client, and you’re good to go! See you on the
battlefield open water!
