With The Game Awards just a few days away, Microsoft has announced that it will not be using the showcase to make any new announcements. Nintendo is believed to be working with organisers, while Sony is expected to show off at least two of its upcoming big-name titles.
Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg made the statement via Twitter:
Since many have asked we are not planning any new game announcements @thegameawards. Looking forward to watching a great show however
On the other hand, Sony has a busy weekend coming up, with The Game Awards happening just one day before the PlayStation Experience kicks off in Las Vegas. Host Geoff Keighley has confirmed PlayStation will feature both The Order: 1886 and Bloodborne, while we’re also hearing that No Man’s Sky will make an appearance, alongside a new look at Metal Gear Online.
In total, we’re promised a dozen reveals – either new content for titles we already know about or all-new announcements – when The Game Awards kicks off at 6pm Friday night in Las Vegas (What’s that in my timezone?). Watch it live online, or stay tuned to Player Attack!
