Tim Schafer's Broken Age Act 2 delayed into 2015

Double Fine has confirmed that the second part of Broken Age will not be ready in time for a 2014 release. Instead, we’ll be waiting until “early 2015” to finish the crowdfunded adventure game, but we’re promised the game is all-but complete, behind the scenes.

Playtesters are now able to play the game from beginning to end, taking 8-12 hours to complete the task, but the work’s not finished yet for Double Fine:

The goal now is to get all the finale work done so we can hit Alpha on all of Act 2 by the end of the year. That means, as you may have guessed based on recent updates and documentary episodes, the Act 2 ship that will deliver the complete adventure is now looking like it will be early next year.

Broken Age started life as the Double Fine Adventure Game, making headlines around the world as its initial Kickstarter goal of US$400,000 was quickly eclipsed. The project raised more than US$3.3million in pledges by the time the campaign ended, but the game has faced a few development woes, releasing in two parts rather than the original plan for a single game.
