You’ll soon be able to carry the world’s greatest pigeon dating story ever told, right in your pocket, as Hatoful Boyfriend comes to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in early 2015.
Hatoful Boyfriend is based on a visual novel by Hato Moa, which tells the story of a (human) student’s search for love, from within a prestigious school for birds.
Are you the romantic type? Then you can meet the feathered cast and try to find your true love – but there might be something more sinister lurking within the school if you’re able to look beyond your heart’s desire. (We’re warned to be wary of “fowl twists and turns” that could turn your love life upside down.)
Hato Moa, “pigeon romance visionary” says:
I never dreamt when I first made Hatoful Boyfriend I’d see it on PlayStation. Thanks to the amazing fans and Mediatonic, I hope now even more people will discover pigeon love… All you need is dove.
If you think we’re not taking this seriously, think again: We’re told a launch party is currently being planned in front of a bench in New York City’s Central Park, complete with a bar “serving a range of high-end breadcrumbs”.
Hatoful Boyfriend is out now for PC, hitting PlayStation platforms in early 2015. Once localisation is finished, it will be rolled out to PC as well as PlayStations, as a free update.
