There’s a brand new Need for Speed on the way, as Aussie studio Firemonkeys announces Need for Speed No Limits is headed to smartphones and tablets – with a little help from professional rally driver Ken Block.
It’s a winning combination: The man behind the Gymkhana stunt driving videos (his latest, Gymkhana Seven, was released earlier this week), and the team behind Real Racing 3, working together on EA‘s flagship racing brand.
Robert Huebner, Executive Producer on Need for Speed No Limits explains:
We’ve built No Limits from the ground up to deliver the insanely-fast driving and incredible graphics that fans have come to expect from Need for Speed – all in the palm of your hand. We’re constantly amazed by the power and performance we’re able to get out of the latest phones and tablets and think you will be too.
It’s not the team’s first time with NFS, but the studio’s taking this opportunity to redefine street racing in this new title.
Early days yet, of course, but we’re promised more information “in the weeks and months ahead”, including details on cars, characters, tracks and – of course – customisation in Need for Speed No Limits. Buckle up and stay tuned!
