If you’re the sort of person who has clocked up hours of Halo – not necessarily playing, but just leaving the game on the menu screen so you could listen to the music – a new website has popped up that makes the experience easier than ever. Now, you can hear those soothing chants anywhere you are, as long as you’ve got a web browser.
Using the entirely appropriate URL of HaloMe.nu, the website is exactly what you want it to be. A full-screen representation of the menu screens for Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: Mythic, Halo 3: ODST, Halo Reach and Halo 4, complete with an endless loop of the appropriate menu/title music.
The music/video can take a while to load the first time you open the page, depending on your internet connection. And it’s not mobile friendly at all. Let me know if you experience any other bugs or issues, or if you have feature requests. Also please tell me if you like it or if you think it’s the stupidest thing ever.
One item that’s already on the to-do list is a pause/mute button – which sortakinda defeats the purpose of ambient music, but makes things a little more user-friendly for those of us who need to turn things down from time to time.
