Get ready to dive into the latest update for The Sims 4, because this is the update that brings us swimming pools. The core game’s been out for a few months now, but now it’s time to start drowning a whole bunch of pixelated people.
The Sims Studio spokesperson Shannon Copur is thrilled to confirm that the pools themselves are now better than ever, faster to build, and nicer to look at. You can now build diagonal pools, pop windows into underwater walls, and adjust the depth of the water, by adjusting wall heights. Even more exciting: You can build your pool on the ground level, on the second floor, or… wait for it… on the roof!
If your priorities are more around the pool rather than in the water, The Sims 4 is getting a stack of new swimwear (including mix/match pieces and Styled Looks). A nice addition is the ability to sit along the pool ledge for a chat, whether your pal is in the water or not – but be careful! You could get splashed!
The new update also includes a bunch of tweaks and bugfixes, tidying up crashes and performance issues and some annoying graphics glitches. The developers also acknowledge that these bugs do not occur for all people, in case you’re wondering. Take a look at the patch notes, and you’ll spy my new favourite: Children will no longer levitate when attempting to blow out the candles of a cake on a counter. Nobody believed the levitation really occurred anyway, and those who “saw” the levitation are no longer available for comment.
