PAX Australia hits Melbourne this weekend, and we’ve just been told it’ll be back next year… and for a few more to come after that. Yep, PAXAus is officially staying in Melbourne, Victoria for the next five years.
All the tickets to this year’s show have officially sold out, so this is particularly good news for those who have missed out.
Robert Khoo, Penny Arcade’s President of Operations and Business Development for Penny Arcade, made the announcement at Game Connect Asia Pacific this morning.
When we first announced PAX Australia, I think that I heard a collective head scratch from the rest of the world, wondering why Australia. Why not Europe? Why not China? Why not Mexico? Why choose a place on the other side of the planet to where you live. The answer I gave was something which pretty much everyone here today already knew, which was that the country of Australia, the state of Victoria and the city of Melbourne is pretty much one of the most amazing places in the world.
We are currently rounding up a list of all the games that will be shown off and playable on the show floor (which includes things like Dragon Age: Inquisition and Battlecry – and don’t forget, Player Attack’s own Jessica Citizen and Jimmy the Geek are on a handful of panels across the weekend!
…if you don’t have tickets or can’t make it to Melbourne between October 31-Nov 2, don’t stress. There will also be a live Twitch stream posted online, so you’ll be able to catch up with selected highlights. Won’t be quite the same as being there, but still, should be a fun way to spend a few days.
