We’ve been given an early look at the sort of environments and concepts we’ll be treated to in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, thanks to a brand new book, The Art of Naughty Dog. The art book, published by Dark Horse Comics, looks at the developer’s 30-year history, touching on games like Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter as well as recent smash The Last of Us and – of course – the Uncharted series.
From the book:
We haven’t revealed a great deal about the game just yet, but in the following pages we are sharing some never-before-released pieces of concept art from Drake’s upcoming adventure.
We’re not going to spoil it for you, but rest assured: he and his companions will be traveling the globe again discovering secrets lost to history-and you might even discover some secrets about Drake himself.
The Uncharted 4 images show off a flooded city, and perhaps a little underwater exploration. One of the pictures shows Drake on an inflatable boat, in a location that looks rather similar to one we explored in the original Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Is the intrepid explorer headed back to the island from the first game?
…unfortunately, we still have a while to find out – Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End isn’t due to hit the PS4 until some time in 2015.
