The Evil Within is creeping ever-closer to release, with Bethesda‘s latest fright-fest officially “finished” and sent off for printing. We’ve also just picked up the system specs – including the console install sizes – so if you need to upgrade your rig, you’ve got the list right here.
Fist up, console specs. If you’re planning on picking this one up for Xbox 360, Tango warns the game does require a mandatory install to the HDD or USB 2.0 (or higher) flash drive.
- Xbox One — 40 GB HDD Space
- PlayStation 4 — 40 GB HDD Space
- PlayStation 3 — 7 GB HDD Space
- Xbox 360 — 7 GB
…and now, onto PC. Things are a little different with tis list – there’s no “minimum” spec included. The studio explains simply:
If you’re trying to play with a rig with settings below these requirements (you should plan to have 4 GBs of VRAM regardless), we cannot guarantee optimal performance.
You’ve been warned.
Recommended PC System Specifications
- 64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
- i7 with four plus cores
- 4 GBs RAM
- 50 GB of hard drive space
- GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent with 4GBs of VRAM
- High Speed Internet Connection
- Steam account and activation
That 50GB is once the game’s installed properly – it takes up ~41GB of HDD space, says Bethesda.
The Evil Within hits PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on October 14 in Europe and North America, and October 16 in Australia and New Zealand.
