Tripod, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra play PAX AUS

Australia’s award-winning musical/comedy group Tripod is making a special appearance at this year’s PAX AUS. The trio is teaming up with Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to give audiences an exclusive sneak-peek at their 2015 Comedy Festival show, This Gaming Life.

Tripod - everyone's a gamer baby (that's the truth)

Tripod love video games. A lot. So to express the enormity of this love, they’re gonna need a bigger band. Enter Austin Wintory, conducting the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

The story is simple – it’s a love letter to gaming. Scod is addicted to World of Warcraft, so he makes his wife take the PC power pack away. Yon’s gaming tastes are limited (to ones with massive guns), and he’s looking for a way to expand his horizons. Gatesy has created a Skyrim avatar that looks like his girlfriend, and he plays the game while she’s out at work.

…and then there’s the music – Tripod and members of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will perform a preview of the Comedy Fest experience, live at PAX Australia on Friday, October 31.

We’ll have more details soon, but if this is something that interests you (which, really, it should), you should make sure you have tickets to PAX Australia. There’s still a few available through the PAX Australia website – act fast, these won’t last long.

PAX Australia hits the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 31-November 2.
