“Believe it or not,” we’re told, “QuakeCon is turning 20 this year.”
While the celebration of all things id isn’t quite old enough to drink in its home state of Texas, it’s lining up a huge bash regardless. Mark your calendars: July 23-26 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas.
North America’s largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN party promises a “non-stop celebration of games and the people who play them” – but it’s much more than the event’s humble beginnings. Even if you don’t bring your own computer, QuakeCon promises plenty of excitement: Panels and presentations from “top industry luminaries”, demonstrations of new hardware and accessories, tournaments, contests, announcements, entertainment, discussions, and – of course – previews of unreleased games.
If this is something you think you should be doing next July, you should probably start organising yourself now – book a room at the Hilton Anatole Hotel and reference QuakeCon 2015 for a special discounted room rate.
