Assassin's Creed Rogue may end up on PC after all

While Assassin’s Creed Rogue is currently only set for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Ubisoft has hinted that a PC release might be on the cards as well, if fans want it enough.

Karl Von Der Luhe, associate producer on Assassin’s Creed Rogue tells a Uplay Q&A:

We’ve heard a lot of response requesting a PC version, so we’ll be looking into that very soon.

Deciding not to release Assassin’s Creed Rogue alienated a number of the game’s long-time fans, as the new entry finally gives gamers the ability to play as a Templar, something the studio’s been considering since the original Assassin’s Creed.

We think it’s really powerful, both in gameplay and storyline [and] premise. Shay Patrick Cormac will go through a very emotional journey from being an Assassin to being a fully-fledged Templar, and we want the player to go through a similar journey.

…it’s also not an unprecedented move for Ubisoft to release a game from the franchise onto unexpected platforms: Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation was initially a PS Vita exclusive, before branching out onto PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 earlier this year.
