While the gaming world’s eyes are focussed on Germany this week for Gamescom, companies are taking advantage of the opportunity to make some big reveals. First cab off the rank? Disney Interactive, with the announcement that one of the studio’s best-loved ducks is making his grand debut in Disney Infinity 2.0.
Yes, Donald Duck is joining old pal Mickey Mouse, The Avengers, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Malificent, Merida, Stitch, Tinker Bell, Aladdin and Princess Jasmine in the game, set to launch from September 18 2014.
Donald does not have his own playset but will be fully playable in the Toy Box, where his special skills include sweeping up enemies, tossing objects, and “getting angry”. Like many of the other characters in Disney Infinity 2.0, he’ll also come with a themed Power Disc to change the in-game Duck into one of the Three Musketeers.
Disney Infinity 2.0 is headed to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U and PC, with handheld versions due sometime after.
