Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has seen some success since the MMO’s relaunch in August of 2013. Since then, the latest installment to the popular role playing series has seen plenty of content updates and new features. However, being a subscription based MMO can deter many potential players from taking the plunge into Eorzea, worrying that they may waste their time and subscription on an less than enjoyable game.
Square Enix realizes that this may be a difficult hurdle to overcome for potential customers, and now has a new way to reel in fresh player blood. If you have a good PC, you can try A Realm Reborn for fourteen days completely free of charge… or until you hit level 20 in the game, whichever comes first. It’s not a difficult process, either: You simply go to this webpage, download the free software and create a Free Trial account.
Interestingly enough, if you ever downloaded the A Realm Reborn client before (either for a free weekend or as a beta tester, or some other reason), you may be unable to use your current Square Enix account; instead, you’ll may want to make a new account if you want to take advantage of this without issues. Also, there will be other restrictions in place on the Free Trial accounts, such as a Gil cap of 20,000, the inability to trade with other characters, and other small limitations that are used to make sure veteran players do not take advantage of the system.
