Retailer leak hints at Assassin's Creed: Rogue

Don’t forget that even though Ubisoft might seem to be focussing all its attentions on Assassin’s Creed Unity, there’s another game in the franchise in development too – and we might have just found out more about it.

Is this our first glimpse of Assassin's Creed Rogue?

Is this our first glimpse of Assassin’s Creed Rogue?

Earlier this year, we heard about a new game, code-named Comet, in the works for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Now though, we might have a new title to work with. It seems that Swiss retailer World of Games hit a button a little early, posting a store listing for new game Assassin’s Creed Rogue. It’s now been removed, and the Google Cache page has been purged.

Until today, we’d only heard the working title and a few assorted rumours suggesting the game will return to 18th Century North America – potentially with the opportunity to play as a Templar named Shay. The gameplay’s already been described as a blend between Assassin’s Creed 3 and the Freedom Cry DLC for Assassin’s Creed 4.

Whatever its real name is, Comet is still being kept under wraps until Ubisoft sees fit to reveal it – we’re hoping for a release by the end of the year, but as we get closer, that seems unlikely.
