Assassin's Creed Unity adds female character

Just because you can’t play as one doesn’t mean there aren’t female characters in Assassin’s Creed Unity. Today, we’d like to introduce you to one of them: Elise, a young Templar.

Today’s new trailer shows protagonist Arno, racing through the bustling centre of Revolution-era Paris to save Elise’s life. This young lady, it seems, is crucial to the Assassin’s Creed Unity story. She’s fighting her way through the Revolutionary chaos in order to secure her place in the Templar dynasty – an odd companion for Arno!

Elise doesn’t just star in the game. She’s also the narrator of an upcoming book, confusingly also titled Assassin’s Creed Unity. The novel, written by fan-favourite Oliver Bowden, follows Elise and Arno as they explore the centuries-old battle between the Templars and the Assassins, in a nation that is tearing itself apart.

…and if you still can’t get enough Elise, she’s also getting her own high-quality figurine, complete with bonus DLC: Elise: The Fiery Templar. Combined with Arno: The Fearless Assassin, this figurine can be assembled into a diorama.

Dates you need to know: Assassin’s Creed Unity hits PC, Xbox One and PS4 on October 28. Assassin’s Creed Unity (the novel) will be available in November. Elise: The Fiery Templar figurine will be released on October 14. Assassin’s Creed Unity will be previewed on Player Attack on Friday, August 1.
