It was a safe bet to say that most of us saw this coming, especially with the truck loads of cash it’s made Activison and Disney, so here it is. Nintendo showed off their new range of interactive action figures, Amiibo, in their digital press conference for E3.
The toys look like they’ll work much like the Disney Infinity and Skylander figures, being able to store and transmit data via the WiiU gamepad.
Nintendo mainly showed how the amiibo’s will interact with Super Smash Bros. WiiU, allowing players to summon classic Nintendo favorites into the game with customized stats including boosted attack and defense and even new fighting tactics.
At launch there will be 10 figures available (cast your eyes above for the full roster) and more are set to release during 2014 and throughout 2015.
The ammibo figures are planned to have functionality in upcoming WiiU games including Mario Kart™ 8, Captain Toad™: Treasure Tracker, Mario Party™ 10, Yoshi’s Woolly World™ and more!
