Hitman: Sniper is a free-to-play outing, where players compete to achieve the highest score possible on stealth, sniping assassinations. The missions are designed to be re-playable, asking would be silent assassins to hone and refine their fatal techniques and strategies to climb the international leader boards. According to the studio, the game will be in the same vain as IO Interactive’s Hitman: Sniper Challenge that was launched to accompany Hitman: Absolution, except this will be built specifically to utilize touch screen mechanics.
As with all mobile games, especially F2P ones, micro transactions are an expected feature but Square Enix Montreal was quick to reassure that all in-app purchases can also be obtained by just playing the game too. The studio also made a point of saying that they will be listening to player feedback regarding the micro transactions, as they “want to make sure [they’re] getting the balance right”.
Keep your scope eye peeled for more of Hitman: Sniper to be showcased at Square Enix’s conference at E3 2014!
