I’m not even going to try and disguise my excitement here! The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be demon slaying its way onto the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Feb. 24, 2015!
Having got to hang out with the guys from CD Projekt Red and seeing the Witcher 3 being played first hand, I am totally super psyched for this game, like Game of Thrones finale psyched! If you’re not, just check this out!
But enough gushing. Time for the hard facts. The Witcher 3 will be coming at you in a multitude of different forms, both psychical and digital. First off there’s the game’s standard edition, which will include a game manual, soundtrack, stickers and The Witcher universe compendium. Then there’s the collector’s edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which will come in deluxe packaging and pack-in more physical goodies, including a 10-inch polystone statue of badass protagonist Geralt and other collectible items, like a medallion, 200-page art book and SteelBook case.
But hold on! If you have embraced the digital age there’s this too. You can even grab a digital, DRM-free release of The Witcher 3, which will include a digital art book, bonus videos and a detailed map of the game’s world. There’s also an exclusive digital version, being released through GOG.com, which will give buyers an extended game soundtrack, wallpapers, artwork, a digital comic, two beta keys for the upcoming The Witcher: Adventure Game and a free copy of role-playing game Neverwinter Nights.
Essentially, whichever platform or level of tangibility floats your boat, your cup runneth over with kick ass editions. Which means it’s time for me to try and find room for more gaming statues…goodbye floor space, hello fire hazard!
