We love charts here at Player Attack, and one of the highlights of our week is receiving the latest details from UKIE, who send us the 10 best-selling titles in Britain, as announced by The Association for UK Interactive Entertainment.
We already knew that Watch_Dogs was Ubisoft’s fastest-selling game of all time, but it’s picked up a bunch of other records along the way too! It’s officially smashed the Week 1 sales record for a new IP in the UK by an increase of 58%, convincingly overtaking LA Noire. It’s also the 17th best-ever launch, behind UK “mega-brands” like GTA, Call of Duty, Battlefield and FIFA, and it’s trumped Assassin’s Creed 3 by 17% in terms of biggest launch sales.
The adventures of Aiden Pearce have also given PlayStation 4 sales a bit of a boost – the Watch_Dogs PS4 bundle is responsible for more than 53% of all PS4 hardware sales last week – as well as claiming credit for a 94% increase in total PS4 hardware sales.
…in other news, Mario Kart 8 has boosted Wii U hardware sales by a devilish 666% – 82% of which are the new racer bundle.
