LEGO-branded videogame sales have topped more than 100 million units worldwide, and this latest instalment should only boost that number further.
Tom Stone is Managing Director at TT Games:
Building on the incredibly successful LEGO Batman franchise, we are working to make LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham the ultimate super hero videogame this year for all ages. The TT Games team is bringing LEGO Batman and an astounding amount of characters from the DC Comics universe to the next frontier with a new epic story, more gadgets and unexpected challenges.
Beyond Gotham follows on from the original LEGO Batman and LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, bringing with it an all-new storyline. The Super Heroes are back (of course), but you’re headed into outer space to stop evil villain Brainiac, who is hell-bent on destroying the Earth. (…by shrinking it using Lantern Rings, no less.)
We’re promised more than 150 characters – including members of the Justice League and plenty of LEGO big figures – and a whole lot of iconic locations like the Batcave and the Hall of Justice. LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is headed to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS and PC in the North American autumn – that is, spring in the southern hemisphere.
