Normally, when a game publisher announces a new game, there’s some level of fanfare. There’s screenshots, or a trailer, or some artwork… something to whet your appetite for the upcoming release. 2K‘s not gone in for any of that, but WWE 2K15 is coming out later this year regardless.
Earlier this year, the publisher confirmed in an earnings call that it was planning another WWE title for a release sometime in the next 12 months. That was already a quiet enough hint, but the company’s now taken it one step further, mumbling confirmation of the game on Twitter.
Get Ready: #WWE2K15 launches on 10/28, internationally 10/31 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Those dates are in U.S. format, announcing the game will hit shelves in North America on October 28, with the rest of the world following three days later.
Interestingly, it’s headed to both current-gen and last-gen platforms, with no Nintendo consoles in sight.
As we wait patiently to hear more about WWE 2K15, it seems like a good time to revisit what made WWE 2K14 so great, with our hands-on review, or maybe our interviews with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Daniel Bryan from Summer Slam!
