Left 4 Dead Survivors: 4vs1000 in Japanese arcades

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new from Left 4 Dead on PC, but if you’re hanging out for a bit of 4v1 zombie action, looks like you should head to an arcade.

Left 4 Dead Survivors is an arcade version of the multiplayer shooter, and we’ve got the first-look gameplay trailer.

This is an official Valve production – the studio’s teamed up with Taito to produce the arcade interpretation, which looks like it’ll be a blend of both the original game and Left 4 Dead 2.

Taito has worked with Valve before, giving the same arcadey treatment to Half-Life 2. The new version – Half-Life 2: Survivor was released in 2006, and was essentially the same game, tweaked and toned in ways to make the experience quicker and more suited to an arcade.

If you want to get your hands on Left 4 Dead: Survivors, you’ll probably need to head to Japan – it’s only confirmed for local arcades at this point.

…however, since it’s been nearly five years since the 2009 launch of Left 4 Dead 2 (and six since Left 4 Dead first hit shelves), gamers are getting hopeful that Valve is working on a new title in the series. Stay tuned.
