343 Industries took to the Xbox website to announce the follow up to 2012’s fourth main series outing for “the chief”. Halo 5: Guardians is the continuation of Master Chief’s story and according to 343 will be “the Halo game that fans deserve”.
In the post, Bonnie Ross – the general manager of 343 Industries – say’s that the team is working hard to deliver a Halo game that run’s at 60 FPS, with dedicated servers and a larger scale/scope than any previous entry in the well loved series. The game is slated to release in the fall of 2015, exclusively on Microsoft’s Xbox One console.
Addressing the statement made at last years E3 presentation – “The journey begins next year” – Bonnie commented that further details regarding the “journey” of the Halo franchise, this year, will be unveiled at Microsoft’s E3 briefing on the 9th of June.
The GM also reminded gamers about the upcoming Halo TV show, which involves longtime screen legend, Steven Spielberg. Bonnie said that the show would air in 2015 and be for sci-fans who are unfamiliar with the series lore, but will also complement and enrich the Halo universe for longtime fans.
