With more than 200,000 daily users, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms is currently the third most-played free game on Steam, but Ubisoft isn’t settling down just yet. The game’s gone through a bunch of changes since it was initially revealed as Ghost Recon Online, not the least of which being a complete overhaul of various maps.
Today, we get a look at a map once known as Balaklava Sub-Pen, but now going by a simpler title: Subpen.
The new verion of the map has had its lighting completely reworked (which actually makes the game darker), and the level layout’s been tweaked, adding more cover and removing areas that encouraged camping or saw gamers able to exploit the design.
Subpen will be released as part of Patch 1.0.2 for the game, due for release shortly.
If you’ve not yet tried out Ghost Recon Phantoms, now’s as good a time as any: The game’s 100% free, gives you a choice of three available soldier classes, and focusses pretty heavily on strategy and tactics.
