When Sony started telling us about the PlayStation Plus benefits of the PS4, Driveclub was one of the first titles mentioned. Straight off the bat, we were promised a slimmed down version of the game for free – and it seems that, after more than six months of waiting, we might finally get it.
The PlayStation Plus version of Driveclub will feature all of the full game’s racing modes, ten cars and eleven tracks across one location, India.
If you like what you see, you can easily upgrade to the full version and get a total of five locations, fifty tour events, fifty cars and fifty-five tracks.
…but it’s not that simple.
By paying $49.99 (price may vary between regions), you’ll get the upgrade, with a potentially frustrating catch. You won’t be able to access your otherwise-full version of Driveclub unless you have a valid Plus membership. If you ever skip a payment or quit the club, you’ll find the game is suddenly unavailable.
However: Pay an extra $10 and you’ll get unlimited access, regardless of your PlayStation Plus standing.
