The future of Unreal Tournament may be revealed in just a few days, as Epic Games starts teasing all sorts of things on social networking.

First off, Epic‘s VP of Product Development, Paul Meegan, promised the future of the franchise if you tuned in to a Twitch stream at 2pm ET Thursday May 8 (What’s that in my timezone?).
Then, company co-founder Mark Rein piped up as well:
You want to know about the future of #UnrealTournament ? Tune in to http://www.Twitch.tv/UnrealEngine Thursday at 2pm ET.
Both men used the hashtags #UnrealDev and #FirstBlood, something echoed when Dana Cowley, marketing manager at Epic chimed in as well. Rather than using her words, Dana simply linked to the following two-second video:
Let me remind you: “First blood” is the phrase played after the first kill in an Unreal Tournament map.
The franchise started back in 1999, but we haven’t seen a new Unreal Tournament game since Unreal Tournament 3 in 2007.
More recently, Epic has been focussing on the Unreal Engine and its new game, Fortnite – could it be working on more than that behind the scenes?
