The Evil Within gets a comic-book prequel

The Evil Within is about to get a whole lot scarier, with Titan Comics announcing a prequel comic series.

The four-part release, also named The Evil Within is written by Ian Edginton (Scarlet Traces, Victorian Undead), and illustrated by Katana‘s Alex Sanchez – with that delicious cover art provided by Australian Ben Templesmith.

The comic is designed around the story of Dana, a young student, searching for her missing friend. Somewhat predictably (it is a prequel, after all), the search leads Dana into the horrific world that Shinji Mikami has created for the video game, and that’s where the real fun begins.

The Evil Within (the game) is hitting PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in late August. The first edition of The Evil Within (the comic series) is due to land around the same time, launching on August 27 for an RRP of US$3.99 (we all know that’ll vary wildly across the globe). Check with your local comic book store for availability.
