Bad news for Mad Max fans – the eagerly-anticipated open-world title from Avalanche Studios won’t be hitting shelves until 2015. There’s still a silver lining, though: The news came via an awesome new trailer.
Mad Max puts you in the shoes of the lone warrior himself, as he fights to stay alive in The Wasteland. Yes, it’s another post-apocalyptic game, but this time around, you’re relying on cars for survival.
The iconic Interceptor (as seen in the films) has been stolen, and Max will do anything to get it back. He’s teamed up with “gifted, but peculiar” mechanic Chumbucket to build up a new vehicle – faster, better, stronger – as they work to survive.
We’ve looked at Mad Max a couple of times, catching up with Andreas Gschwari at E3 2013, just after the big reveal, and Emil Kraftling a few months later to discuss the game in more detail. We were promised a 2014 release for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but the new trailer suggests we’ll be waiting a while longer.
No precise release date has been mentioned yet for Mad Max, but 2015 is still a while off – there’s plenty of time yet for specifics.
