Well, this is strange. Movie-tie in game The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is out in just under 2 weeks and while it’s not likely to set the world alight, who ever objected to a bit of open world Spidey, eh?
Sadly, Xbox One owners will not be getting to play the game at launch… or potentially ever.
“We want to inform you that we are revising our release plans for ASM2 on Xbox One,” a spokesperson for the publisher stated. “When and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is TBD.”
You see that bit “Whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is TBD” – yeah, so do we. That insinuates there’s a chance the game will not be coming to Microsoft’s new console. Which is a bit strange seeing as how the game is releasing on just about everything else. Even the Wii-U!!
No reason has been given for the delay/cancellation but one can only wonder if it has anything to do with the newly designed hardware architecture of the Xbox One. Also, beware as greedy retailers are rumoured to still be taking pre-orders on the Xbox One version of the game, despite the announcement from Activision.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is based on the movie of the same name, releases on April 29th for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Wii-U and 3DS.
