Sony and Gearbox have set a date for Borderlands 2 to arrive on PlayStation Vita: If you want the limited edition bundle pack, you can pick it up on May 6th, but if you just want the game you’ll have to wait an extra week.
The new Vita model is pretty exciting, packed with 1GB of internal memory, increaset battery life, a new streamlined design and an LCD screen in place of the OLED model.
The Vita version of Borderlands 2 is also a bit fancy: You’ll get all of the game’s previously released DLC in the new handheld format, plus Gearbox has also thrown in cross-saving support, so you can pick up where you left off on the PlayStation 3, or vice versa.
The bundle includes the new-model Vita, a copy of Borderlands 2 and an 8GB memory card – all for US$199.99, which is notably cheaper than the US$200 asking price for the current model. Unfortunately, dates and prices are North American only at this stage, but we’ve crossed our fingers it makes it to the rest of the world – including Australia and New Zealand!
