Missed out on the February beta of Square Enix’s revamped MMO? Well, lucky for you the company have made Final Fantasy XIV available for Playstation 4 users for it’s open beta, up until the 7th of April. Hop into the world of Eorza for the next few days and see if it’s a place you’d like to visit more often. The test will be cross platform meaning PS4 users will be playing alongside PC gamers for the first time.
Should the game pique your interest, you can carry over the character you’ve created in the beta, if you commit to buying the full game on the 14th of April. PS3 owners will also be able to upgrade to the PS4 version at no extra cost, which is a real decent move from the Japanese giant.
Square Enix relaunched Final Fantasy XIV last year on the PS3. Since then, the game has built up over 1.5 million registered users – making it a moderate success and fantastic turnaround from it’s embarrassing launch. The company is hoping that the games move to PS4 will increase that number even further.
