Gearbox will "probably" reveal next-gen projects soon

Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has announced that the studio will “probably” announce a next-gen title or two before the end of the year.

While Pitchford’s statement (via Twitter) was appropriately vague, it backs up claims that Gearbox currently has a bunch of irons in the fire.

We’re working on next-gen. Platforms TBD. We’ll probably announce something later this year.

Fuel for conspiracy theorists: Pitchford was specifically asked about Xbox One titles and responded with “Platforms TBD” – interpret as you will.

At this stage, we know that while Gearbox is not officially working on a new Borderlands, there’s definitely Furious Four in the works (no longer a Brothers in Arms title), and the company’s already revealed that it is working on “at least” two new IPs for next-gen platforms. Plus there’s Homeworld Remastered and Tales from the Borderlands, so the developers are definitely keeping busy.
