Sony lists 100+ PS4 games for 2014

Sony has set out to ruffle a few feathers today as the publisher shares a “master list” of more than 100 games due to hit the PS4 by the end of the year. While there’s no games here that we didn’t already know about, there’s some that we’d been lead to believe would be Xbox One exclusives… and there are others that completely miss the list, suggesting they won’t be out until next year at the earliest.

Remember, as always, release dates are ridiculously flexible things, and those listed here are still subject to change, so you might like to take things with a grain of salt.

…if your new favourite game doesn’t appear in the list above, there’s one more section to Sony‘s collection, the dreaded “TBA”. These are games that should be out in 2014 but don’t yet have even the sketchiest of release dates.

An interesting inclusion here is DriveClub, which was originally a launch window title for the platform. It’s now slumped after developer Evolution Studios took it “back to the drawing board” earlier this year, to the point where many gamers will be surprised if it surfaces at all.

Now – there’s still a bunch of PS4 games that aren’t on that list. The new Sledgehammer Call of Duty misses out, largely because Activision is yet to name platforms for its new game. Similarly, Grasshopper Manufacture has not confirmed a date for Suda51’s new one, Lily Bergamo, and games like Rime and Shadow Warrior are also omitted.

The original Ultimate List will be maintained by Sony, so next time you’re wondering what to grab on your PS4, it might be worth a quick look.
