It feels like an eternity since we heard from Child of Light, but Ubisoft has just let us know that the poetic RPG will be arriving on April 30th – and there’s an appropriately gorgeous Deluxe Edition to go with it, as well as a new trailer, highlighting co-op multiplayer.
Child of Light drops players into the magical, painted world of Lemuria, as it retells a collection of classic fairy tales. You’ll step into the shoes of Aurora, a child stolen from her home, as she quests to return.
Of course, it’s not that simple: Aurora must bring back the moon, the sun and the stars, currently held captive by the Queen of the Night. Accompanied by Igniculus the firefly (and a handful of other unlikely allies), Aurora must face up to her darkest fears in a modern take on this old-fashioned coming-of-age tale.
Sound interesting? So does the Deluxe Edition: You’ll get a poster designed by renowned Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano, a 24-page art book, and an Igniculus keyring. Plus, of course, additional game content, including a new character, a bunch of collectibles and even a bonus quest!
Child of Light is headed to PS3 and PS4 (with cross-buy), as well as Windows PC, due to land April 30th.
