Vlambeer's Luftrausers finally cleared for take off

After two years in development Dutch indie dev Vlambeer’s dogfighting sim Luftrausers will finally take to the skies on PS3, Vita, PC, Mac and Linux on March 18th.

Vlambeer has taken the original, and highly addictive, flash game and expanded on it with customisation options like unique weapons, plane bodies and propulsion systems that radically alter your fighter in over 125 deadly combinations. Each combination not only changes both how the rauser handles and attacks but also the soundtrack that accompanies your mission.  In addition to the new customisation features, Vlambeer has also added dozens of confidential missions into the game to test your dogfighting prowess.

Tongue firmly in cheek, Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker shared his thoughts on the game:-

“I honestly thought Luftrausers released back in 2012,” “Ironically, I spent what I thought was Luftrausers royalties on a private jet.”

Luftrausers is available for preorder now on Steam with an additional 10% off the AU$9.99 asking price, or if your feeling a little flush, then you can also purchase the Air Raid Pack that yields a DRM-free download of the game along with 100 giftable Steam keys, all yours for only $749.99!

You can get some practice in ready for the release by playing the original flash version of the game here.
